Does Good Financial Development Attract Tourists? Evidence From ASEAN Countries

This study aims to examine the effect of financial development on tourism demand in member countries Association Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The indicators are index; institution depth institutional access and institutions efficiency index. Several control variables employed this consumer price index, health expenditure, poor air quality, trade openness. uses panel data between 2010 2018 from 10 ASEAN countries. Data sourced international such as World Bank, United Nation Tourism Organization (UNWTO), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Health (WHO). method used analysis is static regression. results show that has a positive demand. In terms variables’ impact, expenditure openness have whereas quality negative impact. current study’s implication policy making develop sector by increasing number ATMs improving mobile banking facilities
